Three Cases of Apocrine Carcinoma

Abstract

|
Apocrine carcinoma is a very rare malignancy which occurrs in the skin and breast. Py 1987, only 35 cases of apocrine cutaneous carcinoma were found in the literature. The reported incidence of apocrine mammary carcinoma is approximately 04% of
breast
cancers. The histopathologic criteria for the diagnosis of apocrine carcinoma currently are the following. the light microscopic finding that is characterized by a eosinophilic granular cytoplasm and the demonstration of diastase-resistant and
PAS-positive granules; electron microscopic findings of abundant organells and osmiophilic granules: and the immunologic demonstration of GCDFP-15. The authors experienced one case of apocrine cutaneous carcinoma affected the axilla and two cases
of
apocrine cutaneous carcinoma affected the axilla and two cases of apocrine mammary carcinoma, herein we report on these cases with a review of the related literature.
